Yes, even working in the toy industry can become mundane and repetitive, (Oh yeah, it’s true! Playing with toys all day can make a man forget the outside world!) but every once and a while an idea will come along to shatter the monotony. One day, my very good friend and colleague Pierre Kalenzaga, approached me with the notion of creating custom 3.75” action figures of Transformers characters reimagined into G.I. Joe form. He'd kindly ask if I’d like to illustrate the character designs for the card fronts.

Well, after a series of thrashing, demolishing, screaming and berating him during the next few hours, I picked his computer up off the floor and decided to take a look at his initial designs through the shattered glass.  As the fire began to subside, there before my very eyes was the soft glow of nostalgia, amazement and just pure genius.

Lol, actually what really happened was a lot of high fiving and bottled up enthusiasm.  Then we all went back to work, but could hardly wait to get started!

The awesomeness you see before you now, are the incarnations of my buddy Pierre aka AirMax Animated’s series of G1 Joes or Joeformers.  Expertly designed, hand-painted and hand-packed by AirMax, fabricated beautifully by Raginspoon Customs with character illustrations by yours truly, 800 Pound Productions.

An ultra-limited series that has sold out instantly whenever debuted, but if you’re lucky enough, you might still be able to find one on Ebay!
